Conservation in the Payette River Basin

June 2, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Ponderosa Center Presents to feature the Conservation in the Payette River Basin.

Community will be the topic of the next free online presentation by the Ponderosa Center.

The “Focus on Community” program will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2nd on Zoom.

The session will be hosted by Craig Utter, who began working for the Payette Land Trust in the fall of 2017 as a part time Executive Director and is now a full-time employee. Craig brings almost 23 years of environmental and conservation-based non-profit experience and a strong understanding of the importance of collaboration.

“Balancing conservation and development in the West Central Mountains of Idaho is being challenged at a pace Idahoans have never experience before,” Utter said.

As Idaho grows at an unprecedented rate, it brings pressures to the Valley and test the very reasons most live here.

“Access to the natural amenities residents have enjoyed for years are beginning to disappear,” he said.

Payette Land Trust works with private landowners to conserve our rural heritage as we grow. PLT’s Payette River Basin Initiative focuses on creating a connected conservation corridor along the waterway from the inlet of Payette Lake to the Cabarton bridge. The Initiative has three main project areas:
-Payette Lake Conservation
-Payette River Access
-Agricultural Heritage
